Friends of Fafg

An Organization under Section 402 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law, registered in the State of New York, Friends of FAFG liaisons with organizations and individuals who can contribute funds and services for programs, activities and projects to raise awareness of and support the activities carried out by the Guatemalan Forensic Anthropology Foundation, a nongovernmental foundation registered under the laws of Guatemala, which focuses on the recovery and identification of victims of human rights abuses buried in clandestine gravesites during Guatemala´s 38 years internal armed conflict.

Friends, also facilitates, initiates, and supports programs, activities, and projects with the purpose of raising awareness of the application of forensic anthropology to the investigation of human rights abuses and war crimes in Guatemala and elsewhere.

Mission: To raise awareness and support for the application of forensic sciences to the investigation of human rights abuses and war crimes in Guatemala and elsewhere, as carried out by the Guatemalan Forensic Anthropology Foundation (FAFG). FAFG focuses on investigation, recovery and identification of victims of human rights abuses buried in clandestine gravesites during Guatemala’s 36-year internal armed conflict, devolving hope, dignity and truth to the victims and their families.
